Saving seeds from plants

I have bought some gazinia and evening primrose plants from a nursery. They are growing well in my garden.

Can I save seeds from the flowers over the winter and use them to grow new plants next year. I have never done this but would like to try to raise my own plants.

Any advice much appreciated.

    If there not f1s they will come true if you save them. Chose a dry day make sure that the seed heads are brown, use a paper bag cut off the whole seed head and put it into the bag then take it inside let it dry for a few days make sure that they are really dry get a envelope write the name of the plant that you got it from and shake the seeds inside seal it up and put it in a tin keep it in a cool and dry place

    If the evening primrose are oenothera biennis, you need do nothing, they'll do it themselvesimage
