Fruit tree - curly, then lost leaves

My young cherry tree has curled up leaves and looks like its dying. The leaves look thick and plastic like and it looks awful. It's only a year old, what is wrong with it?

I think your tree is suffering from leaf curl - a fungal infection.

Ha, no it was with the compost that is what happy in the large pot before.
I haven't had to water as the it is always raining where I am living. Everything else in the garden is fine.
The phone camera makes the blacks very flat making it look like cement, ha.
