Deadheading Honeysuckle

Last year I decided to try deadheading my honeysuckle in the hope that it would produce  flowers over the whole summer instead of putting all its effort into producing berries.  I didn't mind sacrificing the berries because I did get many more flowers and it went on flowering for months.  This year the first flowers opened a couple of weeks ago and I have just come back from holiday to find the whole bush smothered in flowers - it smells wonderful.  The stems are longer and strong enough to bring into the house. I have some in a vase with some beautiful yellow roses -  the whole room is filled with the scent.  This is the first year the bush has looked so healthy.  I'm not sure of the variety but it is like a larger version of the wild honeysuckle.  I hope the birds will forgive the lack of berries - I think they will find plenty on other plants!
