clove oil teabags deterrent
i have a new cat on the block that is using the space behind selenium for weeing, my dog then tramples my dahlias (two snapped off already) investigating the hole the cat digs nightly. now the dog would happily run out there and well i hate to think but he goes mental as soon as the cats paws hit the wall on arrival.
tonight i have broken up bamboo sticks into 6inches and stuck them in the area i have also put 6 teabags impregnated with clove oil, while i realise clove oil isn't meant for cats, i'm not expecting the cat to eat the teabags just deter it from peeing in the area. anyone had any experience of using it ?
hopefully put off the dog trampling the area too as he will smell it as soon as i open the patio doors.

well ive just been out to look and the sticks are undisturbed and so are the teabags but i shall check again tomorrow and also see if just dug somewhere else
I would move any precious plants, and then leave the dog to do the 'cat deterring'. As soon as the cat finds he's always going to be harassed by a dog when he sets foot in your garden he'll find a more congenial spot to 'perform',
Once the cat knows it's not welcome on your dog's territory you can replant your plants.
