Damage to courgettes

Hi, despite our courgettes being covered with cloches, there is something eating the leaves.  Any idea what?  Could there be a predator in the soil?

    And snails but usually I don't have that problem

    Growing plants in cloches is no protection agains slugs and snails. You will need to put down grit, egg shells or slug pellets to keep your courgettes safe, slugs and snails love courgettes.
