Keep it well watered (a good soaking once a week) for the rest of this summer and autumn so that it grows a good root system.  If in a pot/container then it might need watering twice a week in hot weather.  In late autumn or early spring, prune it to keep a good shape and completely cut out any shoots which are not variagated or those will take over.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

in the  winter would you cover the plant with a fleece to protect  from the frost ?

Hi, I have just bought one of these and it is in a  pot. To start with the shoots grew and were a nice pink colour. Now they have gone a pale cream colour and the tips of the leaves are going brown. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
