Boat as a planter?
Hi everyone. I'm currently in the process of stripping my garden back so I have something to work with. I dug out a lot of soil for a patio area and it obviously needs to go somewhere else. I was trying with the idea of trying to acquire an old wooden rowing boat that's damaged beyond repair but still in shape... And using this as a sort of raised planter... Has anybody ever heard of / seen / done this? Hopefully this is the right place to ask! Failing this idea, what other stuff could I use that is a bit wacky? Cheers all. W

Yes, Whittlesey, a fenland town just up the road from us, has several boats used as planters
I'll see if I can find some pics

Finding one to use isn't as easy as it may appear though
Hawkshead in the Lake District had a boat on the side of the road, it looked very good, i saw it a few years ago now.
we've got two in our village, look pretty, i do live right by the sea though so no shortage of boats.
