It's growing out of a crack in the paving round the pond in a friend's garden.  Nothing else like it anywhere near (or far)

    Thanks for that.  Looked it up and yes it does look like it.  New Zealand native, don't think it arrived by jumbo jet image.  I see the Beth Chatto garden has some but that isn't exactly next door either.  The plot thickens... as they say. Might post a note in the village news to see if anybody anywhere about has them
