Move the pots and then walk away to see if the parents then come down to the baby. Hope its ok.

Unless it's physically stuck you need to back right off out of sight for a couple of hours - the parents will sort it out.

If it's actually wedged then move the pots gently and then leave them to it. image

Do you know how long they stay on the ground, so worried about neighbours cats ..... I was thinking of moving pots closer around it, so cats couldn't get at it! so you think I should clear the space ?

If it's fledged then it can fly - but it's probably not good at taking off yet so 'fencing it in' with pots is not a good idea - keep an eye open for the cats and scare them off if needed, but otherwise leave it up to the parents image

Just a quick update, I moved my pots, giving it a clear run for freedom, fed it some mealworms, put water down. Anyway, it set off waddling with a few flaps of wing, promptly went head over heals down my steps and waddled off into shrubbery in the sunken patio , chivvied all the while by mummy and daddy! Hehe. Bless. So is now somewhere in the sunken patio shrubs because mummy n daddy are still around, hope cats don't appear.
