Oriental poppies dying out
My oriental poppies have gone yellow, shrivelled/wilted, and died. None of them were anything special, just run-of-the-mill pink ones and red ones. I've finally found out why - the Daily Telegraph on 30th May 2015 had a useful article about a lethal new disease that is wiping out oriental poppies here and in Europe, in gardens and in nurseries. So anyone who still has healthy poppies, please treasure them, as they will be very rare plants fairly soon. Even the RHS website has nothing about this disease yet. Seems unbelievable that such an old faithful is going to just vanish.

Hi Emma - have you got a link to that article please? I've been searching the net and can't find it
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Here's the link - it took a lot of searches to find it. You will probably have to sign in to the "Pressreader" site, but it's completely free, so worth doing. Am very puzzled why I can't find this information anywhere else, so if you happen to find out more, please post any links! Thanks
