Geraniums

can anybody tell me please why my young geranium leaves have white patches on them?  Also, some of the leaves are curling up.

Is this a hardy geranium or a pelargonium?

if they are wiggly white lines then it is leaf miner

  • They are pelargoniums.  Not a wiggly white line, but white patches as if there was something in the water.  I can't understand what.  I used wafter from my water butt.

Sounds like powdery mildew.  That thrives when there is poor air-flow, so if they are very close together try separating them so they get a bit more air circulation around them.  Growing in shade tends to make it worse, too.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thank you Bob.  This problem seemed to occur shortly after I repotted them from my conservatory into garden pots.  Some are in a pot alone, there is no crowding.

could it be anything to do with the slow release granule plant food I put in with them?
