Do people put holes in the plastic  saucers we put under plant pots- I understand this would stop wet roots, but it then dribbles mucky water onto paving slabs.

    The point of the saucer is to hold water at the bottom and keep the surface beneath it clean.   Otherwise, the saucer is superfluous.

    Ah, got a bit trigger happy with the drill. There were faint circles on the underside that seemed to say'drill here'!

    Haha.. a bit of power tool joy?  Don't have to worry about dumping out the water after every rain now though.  image

    No joy! It skitters about, but the babies gotta have drainage- well in the pot- good job I didn't drill the paving slab haha.
