Just rescued 2 Potentilla Summer Sorbet from B and Q. Can someone please advise on height/spread/care and anything else I may need to know about these. Thankyou
It's a small shrubby potentilla, it'll grow to about knee height. Trim off any damaged or awkward straggly branches and plant it somewhere reasonably sunny and well drained. They don't really need any feeding and watering (beyond a thorough soak when planted and perhaps weekly while they are getting established).
"What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour".
I'm quite pleased with 3 delphiniums I got off the dead plant shelves at b&q the other week. They were £2.50 each and I thought worth a shot...They were hunched and twisted up through being on a set of shelves with no headroom - I think to stop them blowing around the yard but have sort of unfurled now and all have a small flower spike
Also bought a hydrangea for £1 off the same shelves about 18 months ago and a discounted, pot bound calamagrotis overdam and both are doing really well
One of our local garden centres put massive reductions on plants which have passed their best. That may simply be that they have passed their flowering period for the year, or they may have been stuck at the back of the display and gone very leggy. Still good plants and, as I have a large garden to fill, have the potential to save me a fortune.
Just rescued a 9.99 hydrangea for 1.99 hopefully it'll survive, some bits looking pretty dead some OK (wonder if been sprayed) its outside in the downpour

I'm eating purple sprouting broccoli and leeks that came from Dobbies casualty corner late winter/early spring
