tomatoes

Should I be removing any leaves from my tomato plants they are not yellowing and I have plenty of flowers on the plants which are now between 2 and 3 feet high.

    No you don't prune tomatoes if they are cordons you pinch out side shoots

  • i have 3 tomato plants in pots on my balcony they are about 2 to 3 feet high and just noticed they are beginning to get flowers they are in about 6 inch pots atm but do they need to be in bigger pots

    Not sure I also have 3 plants in pots , my pots are about 12 inches high and the same in width and the tomatoes are looking great at the moment with plenty of flowers and fruit.

    6 inch pots are too small for a tomato and will dry out too quickly hence the wilting.  Pot them on into pots of about twice that diameter and they will be fine. image

  • thank you i have just gave them more water and seem to of picked up a bit but will invest in bigger pots should i give them a pot each
