Can anyone identify this shrub?

It flowers in May. It was beautiful and healthy last year. This year very few flowers and a lot less leaves. Don't think it was frost damaged. Is it ericaceous?  Does anyone know its name and where it comes from? Any advice welcome - I'd hate to lose it.

Looks like Enkianthus campanulatus to me. In which case it does prefer a neutral to acidic soil. If it is then try feeding it with Camellia/Rhododendron food.

it might be the slightly dwarf form called Pagoda.

    Devon.
  • Yes it's a Enkianthus, feed it ericacious feed and how long has it been in that pot ?

  • Thank you everyone - I'll give it a little feed (ericaceous) and re-pot it in the autumn. I think the name Enkianthus Pagoda suits it very well and I'll try and research further its origins and nature.  I had been wondering if it got wind damaged in the winter (we are quite exposed) so I might be able to find a more comfortable spot for it as well. Thank you again.
