monbretia

I have a large  trough about 6ft x 1ft - not particularly deep.  I planted monbretia in it a few years ago, but have had very few flowers - lots of leaves and the trough is now full.  I'm not too bothered because it makes a nice boundary on the patio but a few flowers would be even better!  I'm thinking that if I feed it again, I will just get more leaves.  Is there anything I can do or are they just in the wrong place?

They certainly are congested! Will give it a go when they die back. Thanks pansy.
