Greenfly on young plants
I've just noticed I've got greenfly on my young calibrachoa plants. Apart from soap suds made from washing-up liquid (home remedy), does anyone have any ideas what might work. I work get to the shops for a spray until next week......TIA

Just give the plants a good blast with some water, they'l drown. However the diluted Washing liquid will also work.
@NGCARDS........thanks will do that. It's a shame because they were looking so healthy until now
@NGCARDS Thanks, well let you know how I get on.......
A strong healthy plant in a garden free from pesticides should be able to survive Greenfly with nothing more than some soapy water and the local predatory insects. If you are going to spray soapy water to kill them, do it when the sun is going down, as the greenfly stay on the plant, but the predators will have gone away other than Ladybird larvae. If you want to be even safer, just brush them off onto the soil and let the birds eat them.
In general Jimmy is right, but my currants are infested with aphids, sigh. Dirty disgusting things.
Encouraging birds into the garden to eat them will also help but sometimes there's a bit of imbalance when plants suddenly put on a lot of growth in spring and summer. As Jimmy says, a healthy plant will survive but young, soft plants might need a helping hand with a jet of water or a spray of diluted washing up liquid as previously stated.
You're right Leif - horrible things aren't they? The blue tits were scoffing the ones on my hedge yesterday
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
rub them off gently with your fingers, make sure to check under the leaves as well but be VERY gentle with young shoots
