tomato pots

What would the best size pot for a tomato plant .

    A bucket for tall cordon types, 7/8 inch pots for Tiny Tim or tumbling Tom. So it depends on which tomato plants you are growing.

    I don't work for them, but Morrisons supermarket usually sell 8x black handle-less ~25cm diameter plastic buckets for £1 (total price, not each) which are great for toms. They are usually found in the fresh flower section under a display unit. The buckets are not the same things that the flowers they are selling are put into!

    Just drill a few decent sized holes in the base or cut out the bottoms to make tubes for ring culture.

    15L pots are fine for Cordon varieties

    Flower buckets with holes in the bottom and crocks are ideal. I get them free from the local Spar.
