Ladybirds

Whilst I was working in my garden yesterday I realises that I have not seen a single ladybird this year!!?? Where are they?? We live in the East Midlands on the outskirts of Nottingham and I we always have had ladybirds in the past!?

    They are about, seen quite a few in clients gardens, but it's only just warmed up so many will still be a bit torpid.

    Maybe it is a bit early then but I'm sure in past years I've seen them still hibernating when I've been cutting back plants in early spring. Hopefully they will soon come out then ...

    Saw my first one this year and my chicken promptly peaked it then spat it back out, then other chicken did the same.  Guess they do taste bad.
