Thanks again for all of the messages. Yes I do know that we are lucky to have a lovely little part of nature that plays a big roll - I'm just trying educate myself more on this topic and at the same time not wanting my daughter to be stung. No, a little sting won't be bad in the long run (all be it, it will hurt my heart to see her in pain) but what if it then has the reverse effect on my baby girl, who may then start to be afraid of all winged things? What do I do then? I think it's great to name them and take photos, we even have names for the spiders that have taken up home around our garden. And without sounding angry - which is not my prerogative at all, we don't really need to be lectured on the ways to bring up our daughter - advice is definitely something I appreciate - I did not however start a discussion on a gardeners world forum to have people being, quite frankly, condescending. On the most part though - the information from people has been very helpful. as I have said before and will do again, thank you
Thank you Jo47, yes it was helpful - how sad that they only live a couple of months my daughter will be wondering where they have gone. We have had a little peep - it's definitely underground so we are going to re route their entrance like it says to do .... thanks again
I know, me either - they are such hard little workers, we've been watching them all come and go for over a week - quite amazing how busy they are - their phrase 'busy as a bee' couldn't be more accurate
