I kept last years Pelargoniums and took some cuttings from them. They all look awful, small discoloured leaves etc... is it time to ditch them and start again? Any other ideas for small terracotta troughs that dry out quite quickly? I like the idea of herbs...

We even have out own 'Nigel' courtesy of Begginergardner.
Forgot to mention that this year I am also growing a couple of Cannas for the first time. I've put them in pots so I can move them into GH over winter. I chose Durban -vivid orange and Shanendoah - clear Pink, they have quite a few leaves so I'm hoping to get them flowering this year.
Have also tried Nerines in pots (and some in the garden) to see which grows the best and if they will overwinter in the ground here.
Have put a watering system in place the sort with thin black tubing which comes on once a day to give most of the pots a good soak. Found it really saves time.
Oh by the way, Hubby saw the log at our local pub's beer garden and asked if they wanted it. They were glad to get rid of it. Was suprised he spotted the potential.
I was having endless trouble uploading photos here until I read that there is a 2mb limit. So I need to do some drastic cropping! Only had time to do one so far.
Clematis Pink Fantasy, taken last year. Colour is actually a deeper pink than appears on photo - better if you click on image and then the zoom button.

Gosh, people. Reading the posts and seeing the gorgeous pics, is better than Gardeners World!
Isn't it just! I love Yviestevie's unusual containers - especially the log for alpines.

I'm relatively new to gardening, so this year has been a bit of a giant experiment with containers etc...
The Spring bulbs have faded now but they made a great splash of colour.
I added some Verbenas and Bacopa to the strawberry pots to add some colour.
I've used a lot of dwarf dahlias, petunias, million bells etc... I'm not very colour co-ordinated so i've just stuck random plants together
Wow! What a fantastic range of containers. Gardening is the business. Beats everything else.
I really like Lyn's burgundy petunias
They've given me an idea for a burgundy and pink theme/scheme
sweetpeas (with a wigwam thingy dug in), agapanthus, salvia, more agapanthus, lavender, more agapanthus (theres a theme
)
