First time grower - problems with young plants

Hello,

I'm growing plants for the first time, ready to be used as centrepieces at my wedding in early September. I'm growing mainly dahlia's and zinnia's along with a few herbs and Poppy's. I've grown them from seeds and they were doing ok. I moved them outside a few weeks ago but in the last week or so, they've really deteriorated.

The large offered shelving unit they were in when being hardened off, did blow over and there were casualties. The survivors now have some yellowing leaves, white spots and decaying leaves that are drying out around the edges, which are ragged.

I' MA complete beginner and I've become really attached to these little plants so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Lucy

Pot them all into separate pots, dont feed them, let their roots look for food in the new compost, its been cold at nights, even in the greenhouse, I dont think you need to worry at all.

They all look fine to me, but one suggestion for next time, only pot them in small pots and wait for the roots to fill that one before putting into a bigger one, it doesnt follow that if they go in a big pot they will grow into bigger plants, do it gradually.

I wondered about overwatering Verdun, they look quite wet and it might explain the yellowing of the leaves.

Thank you so much for your kind replies, this is all very helpful and puts my mind at ease a little! Theyre quite wet from the rain yesterday so I'm going to dry them off and then be a bit more careful the next time we have wet weather. I'm also going to repot them tonight and see if that makes a difference. Would you recommend any particular type or brand of soil?

    Thanks again

all my zinnias that are in pots outside look like your last photo, i think it was the strong winds last week, mine are a fair bit bigger than yours so think it was the weather.

Sanjy67 how are they looking now? i haven't watered them to dry them out a bit but not really seen any changes. Some have a few more white patches on them which is a bit worrying!
