Thank you for your advice a few months ago on how to prune my wisteria by removing all the suckers...it has flowered the best ever this year...

what a beauty
not jealous one bit
Thank you perki - I bought it as a 6inch stem for 99p from Woolworths about 25 years ago. It has flowered for about 18 years but got v.congested with suckers. I could hardly see the flowers for branches/foliage. I didn't know where to start but Dave advised me to be brutal and it has paid off
gardenlily do you mean suckers that come up from ground level? it's a real beauty
What a lovely picture - and great to thank Dave
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Gorgeous garden, gardeninglily1, always wanted a Wisteria, and Perki, I admit to jealousy!!!
Thank you gardeninglily, it's a beautiful display really pleased for you.
Sanjy I posted the following message showing a pic of my wisteria last winter. I had already cut loads off at this stage but Dave advised to cut back to 3 main stems. I have been sat under it today and have noticed new whippy growth. DAVE HELP! Shall I leave them until September?

thank you gardenlily
Thank you Runnybeak- it's lovely at the moment and even when the flowers have gone the foliage is quite lush. I will be out with an old hoover in another 7-10 days as the spent flowers get in all the crooks and crannies.
The garden vac is too heavy and cumbersome for me.
