Cuttings from Azalea bushes

I was replanting a azalea bush and broke one or two stems - can anyone advise if it is successful growing on cuttings

You would probably have more chance with layering. Choose a low growing branch, peg it down or weight with a stone, either into a pot or into the ground. Just nick the bark on the part in contact with the soil. Keep watered and leave for an indefinite period until you see signs that roots may be forming - could be over a year. When you judge it has a good enough root ball, carefully cut the branch between the parent and your new plant and transplant to its new home. Sometimes gardening takes lots of patience!

We have just perfomed a drastic cut back on a lovely rhododendron that had layered itself with considerable enthusiasm on the uphill side of the slope where it was growing!
