wallflowers

in Plants
Hi guys just emptied a large font of wallflowers to plant up for the summer. Although not terrific they definitely aren't dead and I wouldn't mind harvesting some of their seed pods. If I plant them into the garden will they come back again next year or are they one year only?

You get perennial Wallflowers: these last 2-4 years before looking woody (like old Lavender). They can self seed or you can take cuttings very easily.
How do you tell the difference between an ordinary one and a perennial plant or should I plant them and if they come back then are perennial
I think the 'biennial' wallfowers are perennial in truth but they don't look great after a couple of years.
