Ants in my flower pots.

So sick with the battle with ants in my pots.

I made a stainless steel mesh to cover the drain holes and stop the ants getting in the bottom. This was last year in the spring and so far no ants in any of my pots. I hope this helps with your ant problems. I have put a link to youtube just to show how I supported the mesh to the pots. Good luck. https://youtu.be/_G5xLtaTD7Y

Keep the pots raised off the ground, ensure the plants aren't potbound, and keep the soil moist.  Ants don't like those conditions.

soapy-water solution A little dishsoap in water``` The soapy water will kill the ants, which can't get away because of the water in the saucer/tub. When the ants climb up the pot or up the plant, I spray the soapy water on them DO it when the sun goes in

the damage loads of my plants by building nests under them which affects the roots.  Sandy soil they love so we have all varieties here.  By the end of summer the wood ants have carved a trail from one end of the garden to the other, it is a constant teeming black mass.  horrible...
