A couple of things spring to mind Margaret. Crambe Cordifolia are part of the cabbage family so the soil needs to be firmed around them and slightly alkali. One thing they hate is root disturbance as the roots go down deep so if you've moved it about a bit, it could be sulking. Also they do like space around them so if other plants are too close that could stop them flowering. Crambe will usually grow in any sort of soil and don't generally need feeding as they'll get what they want via their deep roots. Hope some of this helps.
Thanks for the tips. The last time I moved them was about 5 years ago - sulked too long !
The soil is loamy and fertile - perfect according to our gardener and have plenty of space and sun - in other words, there is simple no reason why they don't flower. I am baffled !
I had it in my last garden in Hants on almost pure sand and not only did it flower , it self set little seedlings about the place, sorry if that sounds like gloating.
I've got one for our heavy clay here in N Devon, but not found a place to plant it yet.
Hello
sounds odd as my plant Hasnt flowered but I have three young plants around the "mother" plant - how can this happen without flowering?!!!
