What to do with daffodil bulbs

My early cotainer daffodils have almost completely died back. Can I remove the bulbs so the pots can be used for other plants. If so, how would I store them?

I must say that I just leave them in their pots and tuck them down the side of the shed until next Spring!  However, I can see no reason why you should not wait until the leaves have completely died back, feeding them with a bulb feed to build them up for next year,  then remove the bulbs, dry completely and store in a cool, dark, dry place till you want to plant them again in September or so.

Funnily enough this was on GW last night. Monty took out the bunch of bulbs (with the soil), and transferred to a plastic pot big enough to hold them until they completely die back. This frees the pot, wash it and it can be reused! I need to do this to plant some cucamelons!
