No not too late, they'll just crop later.

    Hi

Good, I`ve just tried sowing some in dustbins outside on the offchance its not too late. Does it matter what variety? I`ve only got Kelvedon Wonder. Thanks.

Not too late. They grow soooo quickly once germinated this time of year. I find that I need to buy fresh packets of seeds each year thought as last years left over seeds didn't do so well.

    Hiya

Mine are now poking their heads out of the soil only 7 days after sowing, really looking forward to fresh peas later in the year. Is there anything else easy apart from French Beans I could still germinate and grow successfully  that you`d recommend?

There's still quite alot of stuff can be sown - runner beans, beetroot, courgette's, kale, kohl rabi, pak choi, radish, salad leaves, swede, chard, turnip - you would need to check the varities for some vegs and sowing now means the crop will be later.

Thanks Zoomer, am trying some beetroot, courgette, kale and turnips and hoping for an Indian summer so they crop!

you couldalways bung a load in and cut as shoots for salads.  Thats what I do up until the first frosts.
