Help moldy mulch

over the weekend I planted my beautiful heirloom tomato plants used organic garden soil and organic compost plus  dried chicken manure I put cocoa mulch around them it has rained off and on through the week. today I woke up to find mold all the way through the cocoa mulch I cleared out as much of the mulch as I could and sprayed the plants and surrounding soil with an organic fungicide what else can/should I do?   It did not seem to be on the plants as yet.  This only occurred in the areas where I had the Cocoa mulch, not in any uncovered areas of the bed or in beds or planters without cocoa mulch. I used the same soil prep in all places. How did this happen? Please help

    Nothing to worry about, the mold is harmless, just happens when fresh cocoa mulch gets damp and stays damp. Should ease off when it begins to break down.

    Phew I cleared it out and put it in the mulch pile before I posted oh well a little early morning exercise. I think I will stick with hay -- will that mold as well?

    Pretty much anything that isn't fully composted will be subject to mold as it breaks down. Just keep it clear of the plant stems and they should be fine.
