    That is my ideal picture of an attractive, natural looking wildlife pond, Dove. Nice one!



    Re some of the controversy raging in this thread - just remember that any pond, even with many compromises and limitations, is of huge benefit to a wide range of wildlife.

    Right on both Will. I think the only wrongs for a wildlife pond are leaving no walking/crawling access and using chemicals in or close by.

    Jo - any pond is great. I've had ponds of all sizes in the last twenty years. I created a tiny one last summer - also working round a tree stump. It's thriving and well used - the birds love having a bath in the shallows. image

     Couldn't be more different from my last pond - I could have fitted my current house and garden into it with room to spare! image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
