Plant ID

PetrichorPetrichor Posts: 12

I planted up this bed with those 72 perenial plug plant packs last summer.  Was hoping those tall one to right of foxgloves were rudbeckia, but they are looking a lot like the plants I had out front that you guys identified as willow herb.

Shall I dig them up or give them a chance?

thanks

Don't think it's willowherb - wait a while until it flowers image

image  Thanks Dove.  I played weed or not weed all last summer as it was my first in this garden.  You'd think it would be better this year but seems not.

I paranoid about this bed as chopped down massive laylandii and load and loads of weeds as a result now.

I'd move your Alchemillas from within that clump of unidentified plant/weed, and place them somewhere they could be better appreciated (edge of a path, or as groundcover under trees). At least, somewhere they're not going to be swamped or perhaps end up getting sprayedimage

There is an aquilegia in there with the pink flowers, you could try to get that one out.  Maybe that big clump is penstemon.

I should think they're weeds or plants that ought to be called weeds. Nothing desirable grows that quicklyimage

Can you get in for a close-up photo?

Verdun - yes I'm coming around to that conclusion.

More pics coming up.  What do you make of the last one as well?

Thanks for the responses so far - you guys are great

    THanks

I think that last one might be called hedge mustard (but might not image)

The one with little yellow flowers and stalks that get longer and longer as the seeds ripen.

This one. I find it interesting but not especially beautiful. I keep a few here, something will appreciate them
