Ants in pots
I have a plant in a huge container and it is covered in Ants. Will they harm the plant and how would I get rid of them?

Can you raise the pot off the ground on those little feet? Ants can and do damage plants by removing the soil from around the roots. A good drowing might get rid of them but you may have to repot to eliminate them. Unless you use ant killer. I don't like ant killer, I don't know how far up the food chain it goes. I only use it when the ants get in the house
In the sticks near Peterborough
i've never seen so many ants in the garden before, they seem to be flippin everywhere and on most plants & woodlice too, maybe it's because of the dry winter.
So you are worried about a few ants on a plant, I have them running about in my kitchen, but as yet have not been able to find out where the nest is sigh.....
Thank you. Gave it a good water last night and it will get the same treatment again. Also got some feet I can put under the pot. Am loathe to repot it as it is huge and such a chore.
