droopy rhododendron

Help! I'm quite new to gardening and new to this forum. Could do with some expert advice please. My rhododendron, planted last spring, has all of a sudden got a massive droop on. Not just the leaves, but the entire top 5 inches of each stem have dropped to one side. It's been healthy until now and actually thrived. This has literally happened over night it seems. Any ideas?

    Hi Foggers and welcome image

    Is it thirsty?

They are very shallow rooting and thirsty plants.

Hi sorry for delayed response. It's planted in the ground in a shady very moist spot. I was wondering if it was too much water if anything. It seems to have made a recovery now without me doing anything apart from looking on helplessly. Thanks for all your replies though.
