Zinnia

This brown discolouration and withering seems particular to zinnias, at least in my GH. Various other plants but no serious effects on them. New to this GH lark

Have you had them out, it looks like cold to me.

I have potted mine on twice but they have been kept in most of the time only out when warm.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

are you watering them from overhead ? better to water from the bottom . Sometimes if the leaves are wet and the sun gets them they go brown

I wonder if there is a problem with zinnias this year. Mine have done the same (from seed and plugs). Bought my plugs from Sarah raven and they were great when I emailed them about it. They sent me some more but they went the same. Been given a full refund and they said that their grower was aware.

Actually yes the door and vents have been open for a few weeks now. Also watering from overhead. I've had them out hardening off but maybe didn't need to? image

mine also look a bit like this but i think they got wind burnt as the first night they actually stayed out it blew a hooley and then it was really hot, ive planted some in the borders and they seem fine and to be growing but the ones in pots still look a raggy.
