A couple of plants to identify

Hi! This is the first spring of owning our new garden and we have been eagerly awaiting plants to pop up and we've had two that were unsure about so am hoping you knowledgeable people will be able to help!

    Second is a Japanese anenome.

  • First could be centaurea

    While searching for furry stems (which I think they are) I also found new leaves which are growing which are kind of white and furry!

    I think you have one of the willowherbs growing through a Japanese anemone at the top

    The first one is definitely not Centaurea, but could be Hoary Willowherb. Wait and see if it has pink flowers, and pull it out before it seeds if it does.

    Yes looking at pictures of willow herb it does look the same. We live next to a field so I wonder if its come in from there.

    Obedient plant as in physostegia? It's a long time since I grew it but I don't think it looked like that

    It doesn't have a bud on it like the picture Edd just posted, but it doesn't have any buds on at the monent. I don't think it has white veins, but its got a little dark to double check!



    I won't pull it out of the garden just yet!
