Is my lawn beyond repair

Hi

Need a little help. - after years of living in flats in central London I finally have a garden. It's been fairly neglected, and after a recent mow it now look like this.

Is it beyond help - I'd really prefer not to dig it all over and start again. Any help would be appreciated.

 Hope the photo worked.

Best to use a "Feed and Weed" solution. Judging by the photo the weeds are firmly established in the lawn. If you use the above treatment it will kill the weeds and promote the grass to grow. In the first few days after you use the solution the weeds will have a growth spurt before dying off. Meantime the grass will start responding to the nutrients and green up. Careful after applying the solution if you have pets or children though

    Enjoy your new garden

I would give the lawn a vigorous raking and using a garden fork  aerate it as it looks compacted and no feed and weed is going to decompact it though do use it afterwards!

Yes, it is awful. Is it heavily thatched? If so, you might have to glyphosate, rotavate, glyphosate and reseed. If not, then I would glyphosate, wait, glyphosate, wait, and if it is clear, reseed in the autumn. A problem is that those look like dandelions and they are a devil to kill.

I suppose it does depend on that you want, a basic not very good but green lawn, or a nice lawn.
