Can anyone identify these two irises for me please?
The bottom one looks like a Dutch iris that grows from a bulb, the top one is a bearded iris but I don't know which variety. Have a look in a good nursery catalogue like Claire Austin or Wootens and see if you can spot it there.
Thanks Buttercupdays.
I did check in Clare Austin's book first but couldn't see the burgundy iris there - I'll see if Wootens is online.
The top one is Action Front.
Thanks Ceres - I did wonder if that was the right one, looked at it in Wooten's catalogue last night so I'm pleased somebody else has confirmed it.
Hi Lizzie,Ceres might be right but look up "Baboon Bottom" which I grow. It is in the Iris garden catalogue based in Hertfordshire.
Email theiris[email protected]. It is a border bearded iris and very beautiful if planted so the light shines through it when you are facing it.
It is is also very prolific and you can rely on having many rhizomes to pass on to friends
