Pear trees

i planted a pear tree three years ago but it has never borne fruit or even blossomed. I am not sure which variety it is but I think it is a Conference Pear. How can I identify a variety of pear tree by its leaf? And why is it not bearing fruit?

thanks

I doubt if anyone could identify which pear you have by its leaf alone.

Pears take longer than apples to grow to maturity and fruit.  It used to be said that you 'plant pears for your heirs' - thankfully with the use of modern rootstocks this is no longer wholly true, but we still need to practice patience with pears image
