Cats & Slugs

Hi all, I am new here and looking for some advice. I have a patch of border next to my driveway that all the local cats use as a litter tray. Can anyone suggest some pretty, low level, ground cover type plants that will put the cats off and withstand the slugs?

If the area is sunny I would suggest Osteospermum jucundum compactum.Low growing, pretty tough and wonderful flowers all summer long.
