Poor quality plugs

Marion MayMarion May Posts: 4

I've just recently ordered 2 jumbo plugs from T&M and was disappointed by the poor quality of both.

The 1st - Raspberry Ruby Beauty - arrived a few weeks ago in such bad condition, that I had to throw it away. The 2nd Buddleia Buzz Blue Sky - arrived this morning and although badly damaged, may just be salvageable.

I got my money back eventually on the raspberry, but not without 1st running the gauntlet of an unhelpful and rude "helpdesk" person - a contradiction in terms methinks ! Only with the intervention of a manager was the matter resolved.

My friend tells me she's had similar problems recently with quality of plants she's ordered from T&M, and "difficult" telephone staff.

Always know as a reputable and reliable company, does anyone know what's going on down there at Thompson and Morgan ?

I for one will be taking my money elsewhere from now on !

There have been numerous moans about the quality of T&M's plants on this forum. I stopped buying seeds from them some time ago (except when I can't get a variety anywhere else).

I have had problems with the quality of T&M's plug plants in the past.  I have also had problems with the condition the plants have arrived in the post although no problem with T&M reimbursing my money and/or replacing plants.  It has made me think twice before ordering from them again though.

Interesting guys, so it's not just me then. Although the raspberry was of unacceptable quality anyway, it had been further damaged by incredibly stupid packaging. So even if had been healthy in the 1st place, it would have been destroyed in transit.

The buddleia is just plain poor quality, a miserable thing with lots of crisp dead leaves !

I too had plugs from T&M this year. They were poor quality and had also been thrown around in the box when they arrived.

I have sent 2 emails to complain (a week ago) and have still not heard back.

The quality of the plants in my local supermarket have been far superior and at a fraction of the cost!

T&M will not be getting my custom again and I shall certainly not be recommending them to anyone.

WOW ! I didn't realise there were so many of us left disappointed and frustrated by T & M's miserable apologies for plants !

Funny you should say that about Morrisons  Marc, my friend buys both there and Aldi - great value.

I get quite a lot in B&Q, though it is a bit hit and miss whether they've got what you want, and whether the plants have been looked after properly Have to say our Shrewsbury store is pretty good on the whole.

I often get plants from Morrisons - at least you can see what you are getting. Also Lidl aren't bad on the odd occasion they have them.

Morrissons was fantastic monday. I thought I would have a look and low and behold as I got there they had just had a delivery. I would have challenged anyone to find me better plants than I got

I stopped getting plants from T & M a while ago as I  found  they were poor quality.
