We have had both heron and magpie have our fish we have a metal cover I've pond for child safe which seems to have deter the heron - then we found a stergeon dead on the lawn thanks to cctv we know it's a magpie it stands on the cover and dips in we have no idea what we can do to keep them out..... we have two dogs but they happily mooch in the garden with them they don't always fly away when we chase them away either!!! Any ideas..... the heron ball wouldn't work because of the grid on the pond many thanks xxx

We tried everything to keep the magpies away, in the end only one method worked....
We got a cat.... 2 of them!
And the magpies still chance their luck every now and again too!
