Peonies

I have peonies planted among my hydrangeas, they appear to be doing ok but I want to add extra eracasious soil to this area, will the additional soil do any damage to the peonies growing there

They prefer neutral to slightly alkaline soil, so restrict the ericaceous stuff to around the hydrangea's if you can.

Care with additional soil of any sort, They won't want extra soil depth, they need to be shallowly plantedimage

As Nutcutlet says.. Be careful you not adding extra soil onto the crown or the peonie basically thinks its time to take a year off.. A few cms generally does no harm on an established plant  in my experience but dont shovel it on like a mulch
