I'll look out for further advice re pruning, although I was following the instructions for cherry tree pruning before this summer. The fly in the ointment here is the new branches that have appeared randomly (and the ones on the end of the bare branches) which makes the tree look oddly shaped!
Quick update. One, at least, looks as healthy as it's ever been. All new branches, so the previous branches look a little vague (especially on the second tree).
Will transplant them in the winter, but as I mentioned before, I'm not quite sure what I should do re pruning (they've developed an odd shape).
