Try using the RHS plant finder which lists 17 suppliers - https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/search-Form

I grew BoA in my previous garden and what a stunner it was. Regularly over 2m tall and a fabulous colour.

Wow, just googled that, what a stunner!

Last year I grew a big bunch of "Bishop Children" dahlias from seed and I got several different colours. I gave away the pink ones (yuck) and kept all the orange and red ones... I have two that are similar to this Bishop of Auckland. I wander if they will become that tall this year??? Jeez I think I need to stake them!

Well the gist of my post was, you could try growing some 'Children' and keep the one that comes closer to the colour you want, but since you found the plant, you don't need to bother, so I can just shut up! image

  • Not at all Katherine you keep spouting off...yes I was toying with the idea and will take your advice and have a go with "The Babbies" for next season!!!! By the way here is an image of the Scottish wing of Auckland Castle where all the Bishops and his children use to hang out!!

Eh, I wouldn't say no to a bit of hanging out in such a place!

The Children seeds came up like mustard and cress, no trouble at all. It was fun to grow them. I think I will "make some more" next spring image
