Very large acer, will it travel up north and live?

Hello all.

I have no real knowledge of gardening but certain things seem to thrive anyway, one being a magnificent acer I planted as a tiny thing about 10 years ago.

It has sentimental value to me for one reason or another and I really would like to take it to a house near Penrith.

I can try to take it out any time from September of this year, but I would probably have to have it out of February of next year at the latest.

Would it be best to ask a professional gardener to do it, or would it be easy enough for me to do it? If you think I can do it, how and when should I do it please.

Thank you to anyone in advance who who replies to me.

November would be the best time to move it will be in a dormant state but still have all winter to put down new roots. I would try to get as much root as possible: it certainly does not need a professional.

I think it will love the damp conditions of Penrith.

Thanks for the replies. I will ask my husband to take pic of it next week when he comes home and ask him to load it on here, he has the camera with him. It is taller than the 5 foot fence it is near and very bushy.

I asked the RHS at Wisley about moving an Acer that I have that is around 8ft tall. I was advised that it had a less than 50% chance of survival and should probably leave it alone.
