kestrel

Got home about 4.30 p.m. to find excited children. A kestrel had flown into the window and hurt itself. It was fluttering between plant pots to conceal itself. Other birds like starlings were going mad chattering away at it. I phoned the RSPCA who said they would come and get it if it didn't go away. It managed to get up on our fence where it had a clear view to spot any cats and stayed for about 3 hours then suddenly fluttered off, clearly hurt but recovered enough to head for a tree, from which it disappeared. Seen up close they are very handsome birds.

May have seen its own reflection in your window and attacked, pleased it recovered!
