Advice please

I was hoping for some sound advice please.

Which is the best fertiliser to use on the garden? We make our own compost and the chickens free range so I suspect the garden is good for nitrogen.

We have mainly shrubs, some fruit trees and a small vegtable patch.

Thanks all

The whle garden a twice yearly application of Fish, Blood and Bone (early spring, and another around June/July).  I also mix some in with the compost/soil when planting new shrubs/perennials etc.

Most veg, fruit and tubs of flowers get an occasional feed with a liquid seaweed fertiliser, tomatoes, courgettes and roses get tomato fertiliser and the clematis get specialist clematis food.

I also throw occasional handfuls of chicken manure pellets around from time to time, but your garden probably doesn't need that image

I only use a sprinkling of chicken pellets on the borders, only once a year as soil improver, but lots of compost as a mulch, as Verdun says, too much feed.... ground rejuvenates itself if left alone.
