I grow them in rows, they seem to get equal amount of sun, theres no dark side with a line.

Lots of people use a wigwam if they are short of space.

my wigwam blew over last yr and the beans got conjested at the top so I'm growing in a row this yr.

For stability I prefer a wigwam. The side that doesn't get the sun doesn't seem to suffer too much. I grow on a very windy allotment plot.

can I be a hideous pedant and suggest you're confusing wigwams  , which are round, and that you really mean teepees. ? ( google image both image )

We have a teepee image this year as I got carried away with other veg and we're now a bit short of space for the runners - but I do prefer rows - a well-constructed double row of 8 ft canes, crossed and tied at the top and braced at either end is a delight image

Rows for me then with Verduns advice on a strong connection

I have put cardboard in the bottom of one of the three trenches to see the difference in produce

I grow runners in rows but crossed half way so they form an X shape end on, it means that when the runners get to the top they hang outwards with the beans underneath so they are easier to pick.

peas and French beans I grow in wigwams with sides sloping at about 45 degrees, and tied into a kids bike wheel at the top. That way there's plenty of space for them to grow and I can see all the pods

? Any chance of a pic as I have a couple of fellow allotmenteers who would be interested in trying the X method
