digging up St John's wort
in Plants
I've just spent a happy, back aching hour or so digging up an unwanted St John's wort in our garden. Due to its proximity to a fence and a lilac tree there were many roots which I ended up having to cut through. I now have the uneasy feeling that there are lots of little bits of it lurking underground and laughing at me for being so pleased with myself for getting the main root ball up. Am I going to be forever chasing seedlings out of the flower bed? If so, any advice for helping to stop them? Thanks!

St John's Wort
Hypericums calycinum, androsaemum, perforatum, 'Hidcote' and any other Hypericum you can think of. I've seen them all called St John's Wort here.
The one I was brought up to call St John's Wort is H. perforatum. That's the one that's sold as medicine.
